Broken Dentures

Dentures are delicate items that can unfortunately be easily damaged even when you’re very careful with them. Because they’re generally made from metal or acrylic substances they are not as strong as natural teeth. These materials will eventually degrade and weaken over time as they are subjected to the conditions within your mouth. Combine this with daily wear and tear from talking and chewing and it’s easy to understand how dentures can break. Eating foods that are too hard or sharp can contribute to prosthesis fractures or denture breakages. In additon, biting down too vigorously on hard objects is also a recipe for denture to breakage disaster. Then add cleaning and handling, which speeds up the damage to your dentures over time. And to top it all, your dentures will always break at the worst possible time!
